A huge thank you to Richmond Osei, who donated an amazing £775 to us from the sales of his book ‘Dylan’s Dilemma‘ together with sales and vendor contributions from his ‘When We Were Kings‘ pop up shop in Croydon, South London during Black History Month.

Black History Month Online Quiz
A lot of fun was had by all who participated in our annual Black History Month Quiz. This year it was spiced up with live performances, all the way from Grenada, by Soca artists Top Cat and Nabil Abbu who had as dancing in our living rooms.

May Fitness
During the month of May we held over 20 fitness and dance online classes with professional instructors. We got fit and shook our bodies whilst raising money for a great cause! A huge thank you to everyone who took part. Here’s just a small selection of some of the classes that we worked up a sweat and had fun in.

Walk Grenada
We challenged our supporters to walk, run, skip, wheel their way around the circumference of Grenada (in their imagination of course!) in the month of April. It was a 75mile/121km journey passing through all the beautiful parishes of the Isle of Spice. Thank you to those who sponsored our participants!

Give Up & Give Back
The Sunshine Foundation committee members and friends took part in our Give Up, Give Back challenge. We gave up various pleasures over the period of Lent (40 days) and donated the money saved.

Black History Month Quiz
This year we had to do our annual quiz a little differently, but it was still good fun. Thank you to Akuba for entertaining us with a Ghanian story and Basq Lyon for his captivating and poignant poetry.

2.6 Headstand Challenge
Our Chair, Yvonne did a fantastic headstand challenge to raise money for us and the ACLT (African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust ) two years to the day of having been diagnosed with Leukaemia herself. With your support she raised an amazing £2,000.
